Supporting Teachers

Ladies in Pigs understands the need for educating our future generations. We regularly attends school days and educational institutions, providing recipe ideas and cookery demonstrations so that the children and young adults learn while having fun!
We also produce an activity booklet called ‘The Pig Issue’ for ks1/2 children. Over 25,000 copies of ‘The Pig Issue’ children’s pack were handed out at events in 2019. As well as including fun things to make and do, the booklet also contains healthy eating information which matches the school’s curriculum. This made ‘The Pig Issue’ a welcomed feature from many of those in authority in education. The Pig issue can be downloaded from our home page.
We have recently completed work on our KS3 and 4 workbooks which are designed to be used either as a follow up activity following a visit, or to work alongside studies to give ‘real life’ employer engagement.
*Not ready for face-to-face visits?*
Then why not arrange a virtual Ladies In Pigs visit for your school.

During this difficult period, we are able to offer virtual activities which are a taster session of our full day face to face visits.
Ladies in Pigs will work with the participants and link to curriculum links at relevant key stage to engage them in discussions, cooking and games. We will discuss where food comes from and how, through assurance schemes, we can ensure the welfare and high food standards in British food.
We will also discuss farming, the countryside and other relevant information. There will be a cooking element to the session where children will get to make and taste an age appropriate recipe.
We have attached our Teacher pack below with details of our primary offer. and a flyer too.
To book a visit – either face-to-face or virtual, complete the form (right) or visit the events page and click on a date that is available in your area.
